USS Indianapolis Survivor @ Cross Pointe Church

Please join us on 9 July 2017 for one of two services (09:15 or 10:50 am) at CrossPointe Church, Madison AL (78 Hughes Road across the street from the Madison YMCA) where it will host as its guest speaker a survivor of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis which was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine during WWII.  Of the 1197 personnel on board, only 317 survived what is classified as the worst Navy disaster in U.S. history.  Edgar Harrell, USMC, is one of only 31 of these survivors still with us today.  Edgar will speak to the horrors of being plagued by sharks, hypothermia, sever dehydration and salt-water hallucinations in a struggle to survive the greatest catastrophe at sea in U.S. naval history.  You are invited to join us where you will be inspired by a firsthand account of the sacrifice, courage and faith in the providence of God as depicted by a member of our greatest generation who served valiantly to defend our nation's freedom during one of the most critical periods in U.S. history.
