This unit specializes in land and water searches using certified air scenting, man trailing, and cadaver dogs. The Unit can assist in searches for missing persons (alive or deceased) in wilderness, urban, disaster, collapsed building and water settings.
Although the Unit is based in Madison County, they respond to any location outside the area at the request of the local, state or federal authority. With its unique skills, the SARTEC K-9 Unit stands ready to assist any person or agency upon request as a public service with compensation. This is a Non-Profit (501(c)3) Unit.
