Verizon Wireless to expand in Huntsville and create 300 new jobs

Today Governor Bentley along with Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle and Madison County Commissioner Dale Strong announced an expansion of 400 new jobs in Alabama from Verizon.

There will be 300 new customer service jobs at the call center based in Huntsville.  Plus there will be various retails jobs in Birmingham, Dothan and other commuities in Alabama.

Michelle Rodriguez with Verizon Wireless said that Alabama is the perfect state for any industry that is growing like Verizon.  These jobs will have healthcare and 401K benefits.  Rodriguez also said that Verizon is a company committed to hiring military.

Mayor Tommy Battle thanked Mayor Battle for his leadership and partnership.  He also said that the workforce in Madison County at the Huntsville Call center currently is intelligent and hard working.

Madison County Comissioner Dale Strong also thanked Verizon and the governor. He said that it won't just help Madison County, but all of North Alabama.
