Central United Methodist Church will once again be hosting the Mary Shaw Ozier Memorial Blood Drive. The blood drive is Wednesday, September 3, from 2 p.m to 7 p.m. The youth of Central United Methodist Church are sponsoring the drive to benefit the American Red Cross. This will be the fourteenth blood drive in memory of Mary Shaw.
Approximately 22,000 people are needed to donate blood each day, according to the Red Cross. One donation can help from one to four people in need. Blood is needed for emergencies, for people with cancer, leukemia, blood disorders, and those who need blood transfusions on a regular basis to live.
Last year we received 61 usable units of blood. This year’s goal is over 65 usable units. The only way we can reach this goal is through your support. Come and show you care, by being a donor! Central United Methodist is located in Decatur on the corner of 6th and Jackson. If you have any questions call Central United Methodist Church at 256-353-6941.
