The Inaguration of 1905

Today is inauguration day for our 45th president but, things have changed immensely over the last 100 years or so.

At President Theodore Roosevelt's inauguration on March 5th 1905, thousands lined the streets.

People of all walks of life and all creeds came together, including —cowboys, Indians (including the Apache Chief Geronimo), coal miners, soldiers, and students.

Roosevelt made a brief speech, in which he delivered one of his most famous lines, "Much has been given us, and much will rightfully be expected from us”.
