Before her appearance at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, Carrie Underwood had spent months mostly outside of the spotlight after taking a nasty spill that left her with serious injuries to her face and wrist. With the release of a new single, "Cry Pretty," and her return to the stage behind her, the country music star finally shared a few more details about her accident.
Carrie went on iHeart Radio's Bobbie Bones Show Thursday and answered questions about what exactly happened when she fell outside her Nashville home in November.
"I was taking the dogs out ... and I just tripped. There was one step, and I didn't let go of the leashes—priorities!—so that's why my left hand's fine, but I went to catch myself and I just missed a step. If I had fallen anywhere else I would be perfectly fine, but it was one step that messed everything up."
She added that she had a chipped tooth but most of the damage done to her face was to her skin.
The scar above her lip is slightly visible in press photos—although you can BARELY tell.
