To be honest, I'm surprised Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau lasted this long.
Their bizarre relationship, if you can remember, started back in the 90s. She was his elementary school teacher. He was 12 when the affair started.
This was probably the first teacher-student story that hit national news...at least that I can remember.
In 1997 Letourneau was put in jail for raping Fualaau. She was pregnant at the time. Then, she gave birth to their second child while serving her time.
By the time she was released, Fualaau was in his 20s and it seemed like their relationship picked up where it left off and they ended up married.
About a year ago, Barbara Walters sat down with the couple for an update. It was an awkward interview to say the least. This specific tweet sticks out:
Well, now it looks like their marriage is over. Fualaau, who is now 33, filed for legal separation. But does that mean their relationship is over? Perhaps not.
According to RadarOnline, Vili filed for separation for business reasons.
He's looking to get licensed as a distributor for Cigawee, which is marijuana cigarettes. In order to do that, they have to do a background check. Not just on you, but your spouse as well. She has a record. He told the online magazine, "Everything is fine between us."
