Dan and Shay love their pets. In fact, for Dan's recent wedding, he and his wife asked friends and family to make donations to their favorite pet rescue instead of buying wedding gifts.
The guys are on the road a lot, but they like to take their dogs with them. So, they've teamed up with Petco and released a series of tips on how to keep your four-legged friends safe and comfortable on the road.
1. Keep the windows rolled up and the AC on. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), letting your dog hang his/her head out the window, puts them at risk for eye, ear, face, or mouth injuries.
2. Properly secure your dog in the back seat. If your dog is in the front seat and not secured, even the smallest of accidents can cause your dog harm. Invest in a travel harness, travel crate, or booster seat.
3. Never leave your pet unattended in your car. The temperature inside a car is so much hotter than the outside. It can be a fatal situation.
4. Travel with doggie essentials. Water, water bowl, poop bags, food, treats, toys...all the things your dog needs and likes should be on the road with you.
