Why Is Thomas Rhett's 'Center Point Road' Album Unique?

Thomas Rhett has fully embraced his past and is here to showcase his upbringing!

‘Center Point Road’ released today (May 31st), shares the origin of TR’s story and sheds some light into life lessons that he has carried into adulthood.

In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Thomas shared that he was surprised that ‘Center Point Road’ would be the album to really dig deep into his roots and anchor his marriage with Lauren Akins.

“As a whole, the record is very nostalgic,” shared Thomas. “I think "Center Point Road," is one of those songs that even when we were writing it, I didn’t think the album was going to be called ‘Center Point Road.’ The hook is “Friday night was everything," laughed TR. "But, as we got into it, ‘Center Point Road’ kept raising its hand kind of at the whole centerpiece of the project.”

For this country superstar, it was integral to appreciate that this album was an autobiographical account to the life lessons that TR found growing up in Hendersonville, TN.

“A lot of the songs on this record refer back to me growing up and the lessons that I learned along the way,” Thomas explained. “A few of the love songs on the record go a little deeper into mine and Lauren's relationship than I feel like even, “Die A Happy Man” and “Unforgettable” went. Less rainbows and butterflies if you will. Just a little bit of a deeper layer.”

Thomas is eager to share this collection of songs with fans because he feels that they will have a better sense of who he is as an artist, and he believes that we can all learn something from taking a look at our younger selves to determine the path that led us to today.
