Your old mason jars could be worth up to $15,000!

In my house, we are either drinking out of those giant, collectible plastic cups from fast food places or we're drinking out of Mason jars.

That's just how we roll.

But now we're going to have to start checking those jars for specific markings that mean they could be worth a lot of money!

I'm talking between $10,000 and $15,000!

Went to the #longbeachantiquemarket today! Saw this lovely bunch of antique mason jars in this really cute crate! #Masonjar #Mason #jar #ballmasonjar #Decor #Wedding #gift #flowervase #pincushion #DIYmasonjar #cute #Birthday #vintage #shabbychic #Tumbler #masonjarstraw #straw #soap #soappump #soapdispenser #masonjartumbler #antique #Smoothie #masonjarsalad #Ball #Giftidea #weddingidea #weddingplanning #summer

Invented in 1858, by John Landis Mason, the Mason jar was the first of its kind to have a threaded neck, screw-on lid, and a transparent glass body.

Those originals are now fetching big bucks.

The good news is that there are several websites dedicated to identifying the hallmarks of true collectibles.

Most of what you are looking for will be differences in the logo that appears on the jar.

Here's to looking through those cabinets and finding some treasure!
