Santa’s Village Team Announces 2020 Plan

Huntsville, AL-- Amidst the uncertainty of the Covid19 pandemic the organizers of Santa’s Village, a north Alabama holiday tradition, have decided to reimagine and relocate the family experience for this year. The 2020 edition of Santa’s Village will be called Ten Nights of Santa. The event will be held indoors at the EarlyWorks Children’s Museum. The new location will allow organizers to uphold safe capacity limits, social distancing and sanitizing protocols.

The reimagined program will offer several “safety- inspired” twists, including Santa visiting with children while being protected by “Santa’s Magic Snow Globe.” Due to an accidental spill of “magic elf dust” at the North Pole, Santa gets confined in a “magic snow globe.” However, the jolly old elf is determined that his confinement will not impact his ability and desire to meet with children and spread Christmas cheer.

A limited number of tickets for the 10 night event will be offered online and will adhere to EarlyWorks and ADPH safety protocols. This will be a timed entry, limited capacity event to ensure the safety of all involved. Tickets will sell out fast.

Holding the multi-night event inside the EarlyWorks Children’s Museum will not only provide a safe environment, but will also allow visitors to enjoy all that the museum has to offer, including the special hands-on exhibit entitled Toys: The Inside Story. The exhibit will offer visitors the opportunity to learn how toys work including a look inside some favorites at the gears, cams and pulleys exhibit. Also included this year visitors can experience other activities such as the Lego River water table, holiday inspired craft making in the STEM Learning Lab, the Pirate Ship and the Video Game History room, which includes trying their hand at playing a vintage pinball machine and the arcade game version of Donkey Kong.

“Santa’s Village has been a family holiday tradition for more than 2 decades, no one on the planning committee could imagine cancelling the beloved event, so our team has designed an alternate program that will maintain much of the magic and at the same time keep our visitors safe,” commented Bart Williams, Executive Director of the EarlyWorks Museum. “We know we will not be able to exactly duplicate all the features of the traditional Santa’s Village, but I think the planning team has come up with a fantastic safety-inspired substitution. We fully intend to be back to normal in the future,” concludes Williams.

The 2020 Ten Nights of Santa program has been made possible through the continued support of annual Santa’s Village sponsors, including Jerry Damson Automotive, Redstone Federal Credit Union, Torch Technologies, Coca-Cola, Avion Solutions and CB&S Bank.

Ten Nights of Santa will be held nightly Sunday, December 13- Wednesday, December 23 starting at 5pm. Tickets for the event must be pre-purchased online. Cost for Ten Nights of Santa is $10 per person (children 12 months and below are free and do not require a ticket). For more information and to purchase tickets visit online at earlyworks.com
