Sports provide many lessons and learning opportunities but some things go way beyond the game. In a recent match up of Auburn Junior High and a school out of LaGrange, sportsmanship was the real winner.
As the game comes to a close LaGrange works to get the ball to a player with down syndrome. He misses his first shot but instead of the Auburn player rebounding the ball and ending the game he tips it back to the special needs player for another shot. Third time is the charm as the player nails a 3 pointer and everyone goes wild.
