We already have ratings to let us know if films are good for kids, and now we finally have a system to tell us if a flick is going to be a must-see for women.
The Internet Movie Database has introduced an F for Female scale, which ranks movies for their representation of women. They're judged by whether the movie was directed by a woman, written by a woman, or features significant women onscreen in their own right.
So far, 21,000 films have been rated, with a select few – including Frozen and American Honey – earning a coveted three-F rating. (New York)
