For a number of years, the NFL has been the biggest sports league in the land. Television ratings have been strong for football, while baseball ratings have been flat.
But, this does not mean baseball is dying. Not even close.
According to a new study from Forbes magazine, Major League Baseball is making big bucks. The average team is now worth $1.54 billion, which is a whopping 19% increase from last year.
That puts Major League Baseball in second place, worth more than every other sports league except the NFL.
Sure, the games might be slow and there’s less excitement to gamble on baseball than on football, but – clearly – there’s plenty of money being made. (Forbes)
