It all started when a vehicle was reported stolen from a Chevron in Decatur. The suspect then side swiped an unmarked police car which led to a police chase. The woman ,who was driving, then crashed the car on the Tennessee River Bridge. Instead of cutting her losses and giving up, she then decided that jumping off the bridge would be the best course of action.

At approximately 12:50 p.m., Alabama State Troopers were notified about a vehicle pursuit on I-65 south near the Tennessee River Bridge. The vehicle did crash on the bridge. The driver, a white female, fled on foot. A white male was apprehended at the scene by Alabama State Troopers and turned over to Decatur Police. ALEA aviation, Alabama State Troopers, Limestone County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Decatur Police are on scene searching for the female. State Troopers are working the crash and there were no injuries.
The woman actually jumped off the Tennessee River bridge on I-65. She didn't jump into the water, but the foliage underneath. Police boats were able to locate the woman and take her into custody. Both suspects were arrested and transferred into the custody of Decatur police.
