Headlining the 23rd annual Riverfest is Kellie Pickler! Riverfest will be held September 14-15, 2018 at Ingalls Harbor in Decatur, Alabama. Other acts include Red Marlow, Brandon Elder, Jo Smith, Kalie Shorr, The Ben Parker Project, and more!
Along with the Championship barbecue competition, the festival includes food vendors, live music and children's activities. Proceeds from Riverfest will benefit Mosiac Mentoring of North Alabama. Riverfest is recognized by the state of Alabama as an official State Barbecue Championship competition. The cook-off is sanctioned by, and conducted under, the rules of the Kansas City Barbecue Society. The Grand Champion winner of Riverfest automatically qualifies for the American Royal World Championship Barbecue Cook-off in Kansas City, Missouri, and is entered into the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational drawing. Riverfest features more than 70 professional and amateur BBQ cooking teams from across the United States. The teams will be competing in such categories as beef brisket, pork ribs (loin/spare), chicken, pork (shoulder/butt), and best sauce.
The 5K Rib Run is back and will take place Saturday, September 15th! There are pricing incentives for early registration so be sure to take advantage of that! There will be a Packet Pick Up and late registration on Friday, September 14th from 3 - 6:30 pm at Ingalls Harbor, 701 Market St NW Decatur, AL . You may also get your packet and register on race morning September 15, 2018.
