This weekend you can head out to Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge in Decatur for the Festival of Cranes. Festival of Cranes is a free two day event featuring storytelling, photography workshops, music, live raptor shows, children activities, and of course you'll be able to view thousands Sandhill cranes, the endangered Whooping crane, ducks, geese, bald eagles, and all sorts of other wildlife!

The Visitor Center and Observation Building will be the main spot for most things however the Auburn University Southeastern Raptor presentations will take place at the Historic Princess Theater in downtown Decatur.

Festival of Cranes will take place all day Saturday (Jan. 12th) and Sunday (Jan. 13th) Wheeler Refuge in Decatur
