4th Annual Bark for Life Relay Event & Grand Opening of Decatur Dog Park
A fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and the grand opening of the Decatur Dog Park on the same day – now that’s something to bark about! The American Cancer Society will be hosting the 4th annual Bark for Life fundraiser at Decatur Animal Services (DAS) on Saturday, May 18, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The festivities will take place at Wilson Morgan Park which is adjacent to DAS
To kick off the event, attendees will first gather together for the grand opening of the Decatur Dog Park at 10:00 a.m. Bark for Life is a specialized rendition of Relay for Life, pet owners are encouraged to bring their pups for a morning relay walk and an afternoon of family fun and themed events. The registration fee for each dog brought to Bark for Life is a $10 donation to the American Cancer Society. Participants can pay upon arrival. Cash is requested.
Festivities will include a dog & owner parade, dog talent show, plenty of dog centered games, and a Police K-9 demonstration. There will be plenty of fun for humans as well including Bingo, cornhole competitions, bounce houses, live music, photo opportunities, food, drinks, and more!
Any donations can be dropped off at Decatur Animal Services during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., or Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
