During the interview, Stefani discussed the upcoming twelfth season of “The Voice,” how it feels to be back on the show, and what she can offer as a coach during this season having recently released a new album. “I had an extraordinary year last year, I got to make a record and make new music, then go back on tour after seven years,” she noted. “To be around all that music, and have that new music come out, [you’re in] a different place.”
Stefani went on to discuss the chemistry between the coaches on the show. “Alicia Keys is so magical. Adam and I, we’ve known each other for a while now, and of course, Blake, who I think is the greatest guy ever.
It’s just so fun and easy and comfortable,” the singer said. Stefani also discussed the chemistry between Blake Shelton and she, and confessed how she wasn’t sure if being on the show together would work. “I was nervous at first, I was like wait, will this be awkward? How am I going to act? But It’s just natural,” she noted. “We do help each other, and I’ve learned a lot about country music through him.”
Stefani also revealed how she spent Valentine’s Day. “We weren’t together, I was here and [Shelton] was in Oklahoma. I got some beautiful flowers and lots of texts, it was fun,” she gushed. Check out the full “Today” interview below!
