Kathy Griffin pulls sick Trump stunt

Kathy Griffin has a history of shocking audiences with her outrageous form of humor.

Now even she admits she may have gone too far after posting a video of herself brandishing a bloodied, decapitated effigy of President Trump's head.

(We are not reposting the image but it's available everywhere on the internet by now)

The video was filmed by controversial photographer Tyler Shields and posted by each of them to social media.

During the photo shoot, Kathy joked that she and Tyler would need to move to Mexico once the pics got released, for fear they'd be thrown in prison.

She may not have been so off the mark.

Secret Service has launched an investigation into "the circumstances surrounding the photo shoot."

Kathy apologized Tuesday evening for the images.

President Trump has responded, Tweeting "Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!"

The president's son, Donald Trump Jr., called the imagery "disgusting but not surprising."

Chelsea Clinton called it "vile and wrong."

Griffin is the longtime co-host of CNN's annual New Year's Eve coverage. CNN said it was evaluating the matter and had made "no decisions at this point."
