“More than a Backpack” is Kids to Love’s annual effort to collect school supplies for foster children.
This year 102.1 WDRM is bringing a signed Thomas Rhett guitar out to our events for people to register to win! One dollar gets you one entry!

Each summer we invite our community to donate backpacks and/or school supplies to go inside, such as notebooks, pencils, crayons and rulers.
We call it “More than a Backpack” because for foster children it represents more than a new school year. It means they don’t have to ask their peers for supplies. It means they are ready to learn. And, for many, it means they don’t have to use a garbage bag to haul their personal supplies from one home to another.“More than a Backpack” serves foster children in 4 states: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee. The program serves more than 5,000 children each year.
