Alabama Extension at Alabama A&M University is partnering with local organizations in Hartselle and Decatur, AL to hold 2 Electronic Waste Recycling Days on Saturday, November 2 and Saturday, November 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The E-Waste Drives will be held at the following locations:
November 2 Sparkman (Hartselle) Civic Center - Lower Parking Lot 406 Nance Ford Rd, Hartselle, AL
November 9 City of Decatur Street and Environmental Services Complex 1802 Central Pkwy, Decatur, AL
Consumers are encouraged to bring old computers, routers, phones, printers, tablets, monitors, modems, gaming systems, DVDs and other electronic products for disposal.
Glass screens and CRT (old tube-style) TVs and monitors will be recycled for a $15 fee.
There is a weight limit of 40 pounds per item and hard drives will be destroyed upon request.
Partners this year include Morgan County Environmental Services, Managed Asset Recycling Solutions, and the City of Decatur Recycling Department.
The e-waste recycling drives are annual activities of the E-Waste Management Education Program (formerly the E-Waste Institute) that is a collaborative partnership between the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Alabama A&M University.
