Snickers is making history, Guinness Book of World Records history, that is.
On Thursday (January 16), Waco, Texas was announced as the home of the world's biggest Snickers bar, weighing in at more than 4,700 pounds and measuring two feet high and 26 inches wide. To compare that with a single-size bar, the massive creation is the size of — wait for it — 43,000 bars and we can already feel the cavity pain.
"This is incredibly impressive," Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric told Fox 44 News. "Some of my favorite record categories are big food because it has to be edible and it is also an engineering feat, so to get a 5,000 pound bar of chocolate to stay together is really challenging."
As for the backstory behind its creation, the Mars Wrigley plant in Waco created the bar in a week after coming up with the idea only two weeks ago. Its conception makes sense as the plant considers itself the world's largest producer of beloved candies like Snickers, M&M's and Skittles. The plant is expected to give our pieces of the bar to their workers around the country.
"This bar that we made in the last week absolutely is the (sum) of, I think, what you could call, 'Everything is bigger in Texas.' Because it's the biggest Snickers bar ever made," Snickers value manager Ruud Engberstold the station. "It's the largest chocolate nut bar ever made in the world."
