Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard and wife Hayley understand why intimacy is so important.
During the pair's recent appearance on Hayley's parenting podcast, Meaning Full Living, the couple, who share three children, Atlas Roy, 5 months, Luca Reed, 18 months, and Olivia Rose, spoke about their need to keep a healthy sex life. "It's part of connecting," the singer, 34, admitted during the chat with podcast co-host Jessica Diamond. "Intimacy is part of a strong marriage, and, you know, a strong marriage leads to strong parenting. It's important."
While Hubbard acknowledged 2020 as being a difficult year to prioritize their romance after the birth of their third child in October and his recovery from a vasectomy, the country hitmaker emphasized that intimacy isn't just about having sex. "But making that a priority, and just making time to connect," he continued. "Even if — I remember some nights we just didn't have sex, we were like, 'No, let's just lay here and watch a movie,' and just hold hands or kind of hold each other. Just a way to connect. We've been pretty intentional about it."
Meanwhile, Hayley emphasized that the talking point is one that is needed among parents. "You're emotionally exhausted in those early phases of parenting. You're physically exhausted and all of those things, and sex is kind of the last thing you want to make time for. But it is important," she explained. "And I think that's something that we've tried to focus on. Sometimes when it has been a while, we're like, 'Okay, we have to make time for this,' because it is so crucial."
