Shania Twain responded to Snoop Dogg when the first-season coach on The Voice asked for her blessing for his artist to cover one of the country megastar’s most legendary anthems.
“I have an artist of mine by the name of Christina Eagle. She’s covering your song, ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman!,’” Snoop said. “I mean, it’s only right for me to reach out to the queen and ask for your blessings so she can do her thing on The Voice. Love you so much. Happy holidays. And one day soon, we gotta do something together, Ms. Twain.”
Twain shared her response ahead of Eagle’s performance on The Voice on Monday evening (December 2):
“Hey Christina Eagle. This is Shania Twain, and Snoop Dogg reached out and said that you were gonna do ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman!’ on The Voice tonight, and I am so excited. I’m on Snoop’s side. I think you’re an incredible, incredible singer, and I’m just honored you’re gonna do this song. I know you’re gonna kill it. So have fun with it, alright? You go, girl. And Snoop, I’ll see you in the studio.”
Twain released “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” in 1997 on her studio record, Come On Over. That album also included “You’re Still The One,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” “From This Moment On,” and “Honey, I’m Home,” among other unforgettable tracks. Twain released the Come On Over: Diamond Edition to celebrate the project’s 25th anniversary. Watch her response to Snoop Dogg here, and watch Eagle’s performance on The Voice below.
