Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce fielded questions about potentially proposing to his girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, during the Opening Day of Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans Monday (February 3) night.
"Wouldn't you like to know," Kelce said coyly while smiling when asked about a potential engagement.
Kelce fielded multiple questions about possibly proposing to Swift during the massive media event.
“Anyone special? A Super Bowl ring? Next question,” Kelce said before another reporter asked a question about a possible proposal.
“Damn, back-to-back [questions about proposing]. You guys are crazy,” Kelce responded.
Kelce did speak about Swift's worth ethic, which he credited as motivation for himself.
"If she's out here being the superstar she is, never taking no for an answer, and always working her tail off, I better match that energy for sure," he said.
Kelce famously revealed that he attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number when he attended her concert at Arrowhead Stadium prior to their relationship in 2023. Swift later said that the three-time Super Bowl champion "very adorably put me on blast" when he acknowledged the situation on his podcast, which she said "was metal as hell" while being featured as Time Magazine's 'Person of the Year' in December 2023.
Kelce enters the Chiefs' Super Bowl LIX matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles as the all-time postseason leader for receptions (174), while also ranking second behind only Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice in receiving yards (2,039) and touchdown catches (20) for the postseason. The Chiefs are looking to become the first team to ever win three consecutive Super Bowls, entering Sunday (February 9) as back-to-back defending champions and having won three of the last five.
Kansas City previously defeated Philadelphia, 38-35, in Super Bowl LVII two years prior.
