Lauren Alaina is seeking “unhinged” and “feral” marriage advice.
The powerhouse singer-songwriter — who is pregnant with her first chid with husband Cam Arnold — posted on Instagram and TikTok on Tuesday (April 8): “I’m pregnant and bored rn. Share your most unhinged marriage advice. I’m not talking ‘never stop dating.’ I’m talking the most feral things you’ve been too embarrassed to share until now.”
“This is a safe place. Give me your worst,” Alaina wrote in her caption. Several of the commenters, for example, wrote when their husbands fall asleep on the couch, they don’t wake him to have the bed to themselves. One TikToker said she records her husband snoring and turns up the volume on the recording loud enough to wake him up. Another said she sends her husband payment requests for inconveniences (“forget to start the dryer $25 etc.”). Another charges a $5 finders fee (“if he asks me where something is and I know the location or I find it $5”). Others advised having separate comforters, bathrooms and bank accounts. Some recommended finding a secret hiding place for her snacks (including hiding candy in a vegetable bag in the freezer), and more as of publication time on Wednesday morning (April 9).
Alaina has recently laughed at the irony that she has a happy marriage with Arnold, though her latest single to release is a scathing anthem that “depicts the strain of a tumultuous relationship.” She wrote “Household” with Casey Brown, Lydia Vaughan and Parker Welling. It’s the latest single from Alaina since “Those Kind Of Women,” a heartfelt, full circle ballad that served as the country star’s pregnancy announcement when she debuted the music video earlier this year.
