Chase Rice delivered the first sneak peek of the next chapter in his career as he released “Two Tone Trippin’” on Wednesday (July 2).

Rice joined forces with fellow singer-songwriter Wyatt McCubbin — a solo artist who has also written music for Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Zach Top, Cody Johnson and others — on “Two Tone Trippin.’” The collaboration, written by the two artists and producer Oscar Chares, is described as “a jangly, guitar-picking joyride that captures the heart of summer and the spirit of a classic American truck,” reads a press release issued Wednsday. “A feel-good celebration of freedom, young love and the timeless charm of a two-tone pickup, ‘Two Tone Trippin’’ takes a well-worn symbol of Country storytelling and revs it up with fresh detail and classic country flair.”

“Two tone trippin’/ Third gear slippin’/ Radiator hotter than a grease fire kitchen/ Windshield wishing/ Two tone, two tone, two tone trippin’”

“Me and my dude [Wyatt McCubbin] put out a new song today called ‘Two Tone Trippin,’” Rice wrote in a caption on Instagram. “Wyatt out here telling everybody that he played that guitar part and at some point I'm gonna set the record straight on that. Real note, this is the coolest song I've ever put out, Wyatt you're a bad dude. Y'all send this to anybody who needs a good song for their Fourth of July playlist. Can't wait to play it live and show y'all who actually played that guitar. Whole song was one take.”

Rice is slated to release more music later this year, continuing “to lean into his roots and the unfiltered storytelling that earned 2024’s independent release Go Down Singin’ widespread critical praise,” the release states. Rice delivered that 11-track album in September, with the title track, “Fireside,” “Haw River,” “You In ’85” and more. After that, he released Fireside Sessions, a 25-track project that offers acoustic renditions of the songs on Go Down Singin’ and 2023’s I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell.
