Darius Rucker revealed he wishes he wrote a heartache ballad that Miranda Lambert released nearly 20 years ago.

Rucker shared his cover of “More Like Her,” which appeared on Lambert’s second studio album in 2007. Crazy Ex Girlfriend also included the title track, “Gunpowder & Lead,” “Famous in a Small Town” and more. Rucker shared his rendition on TikTok:

“Forgiving you, well, she's stronger than I am/ You don't look much like a man from where I'm at/ It's plain to see desperation showed it's truth/ You love her, and she loves you with all she has/ I guess I should've been more like that/ I should have held on to my pride/ I should have never let you lie/ I guess you got what you deserved/ I guess I should've been more like her/ She's beautiful in her simple little way”

Rucker’s “More Like Her” is part of his “songs I wish I’d written” covers. The Hootie & the Blowfish star, who recently announced his engagement to fiancée Emily Deahl, shared the first clip last month “in honor of announcing my new band,” Howl Owl Howl, a rock group he formed with Mike Mills of R.E.M. and Steve Gorman of The Black Crowes. Rucker covered “Everybody Hurts” by R.E.M. to kick off the “song I wish I’d written” series. Watch Rucker’s rendition of Lambert’s ballad here:
